My father was a sweetheart and a rock. He went through a bad time prior to his death as the love of his life passed away shortly before his death of an adult form of cot death, this broke him.
I had a rocky time with my dad but the last few years were the best, we became more than father and daughter - we became best friends and i will always love him and miss him with all my heart. He was a brilliant laugh, loved his horror movies and ZZ Top! Oh, and i wont forget the Hells Angels he was in! I will always miss you dad and wish every day you were here with me and could help me through the bad times that i have been through but i am thankful you are my dad and you will always be in my heart xxxxxxxxxxx
p.s there will always be more to love xxxxxxx

You were truly one of a kind
In a class on your own
Even those who never met you
Had heard of 'Geordie Sloan'

Your dulcet tones on the radio
That impish sense of fun
Nobody was safe from your wit
You'd have a laugh with anyone

You'd walk into a silent room
And instantly brighten the day
Enveloping people in a bear hug
Spreading love the Geordie way

We can almost hear you singing
As you roam the eternal plain
Your smile will be our sunshine
Your tears of laughter the rain

Now you've gone somewhere else
Another bright star in the sky
You touched our lives forever
Goodnight, God bless and Goodbye

xxxxxxxx

Images of a Dad.

Even though I did not have the privilege of knowing your Dad, I know the special love that a father and daughter have. I have also lost my dear dad as well. I hope my small tribute will sound like the relationship that the two of you did have.

Dad....so many images come to mind whenever I speak your name; without you in my life things are not the same.

No matter what happened in my life you could make my gray skies blue. I always depended on you.

Dad, who will I turn to for answers when my life does not make sense; who will hold me tight when the pieces just don't fit.

Oh, Dad, if I could turn back time and once more hear your loving voice; I'd tell you of all the Dad's in the world, you dear loving Dad would still be my choice.

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
To sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We are all meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay.

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know,
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.

But when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.
